Down and Out In Tampa Bay
Buccaneers rookie quarterback Josh Freeman had a first-half passer rating of 2.8 Sunday versus the Jets .
My college GPA was higher than that.
After a bright debut as a starter against the Packers in Week Nine, there has really not been much indication that Freeman—or the entire Tampa Bay team—is making any progress under rookie coach Raheem Morris.

2027 NFL Mock Draft 🔮

Players and Teams That Want Draft Redo 🔄

Projecting NFL Teams Most Likely to Tank for 2027 📉
Freeman has thrown eight interceptions over the past two games, the Bucs leading rusher ran for 14 yards on Sunday and the team didn't get a first down until the third quarter—and that came on a penalty following a three-and-out. (It's also the second time this year that the Bucs have gone an entire half without a first down.)
Some might say that the defense has played better lately. It's also faced four backup quarterbacks in five weeks—and lost to all of them.
A 1-15 record will likely (rightfully) gets Morris fired. It will also probably get the Bucs Ndamukong Suh in next year's draft.
Tampa Bay will have 10 picks then, and given the apparent incompetence of nearly every move made by Morris and first-year general manager Mark Dominik, it would probably be wise to have someone else running what will arguably be the most important draft in team history.
Some people claim that Morris should be given more of a chance.
I've seen just about enough.
