Notable Predraft Trades
Jets Go from No. 6 to No. 3 in Deal with Colts
In their apparent search for a franchise quarterback, the New York Jets made a bold move by trading up from No. 6 overall to No. 3 overall.
The Indianapolis Colts announced in March that they dealt the No. 3 pick to New York for the Nos. 6, 37 and 49 selections in 2018, and a 2019 second-round pick.
With the Indianapolis Colts seemingly confident quarterback Andrew Luck will return from injury in 2018, it allowed them to deal from a position of strength.
Bills Acquire No. 12 from Bengals for No. 21 and Cordy Glenn
The Bills owned two first-round draft picks after trading down with the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2017 draft, and they used that to their advantage leading up to the 2018 draft.
Buffalo owned the Nos. 21 and 22 selections, and it packaged No. 21 with No. 158 and offensive tackle Cordy Glenn to acquire No. 12 and No. 187 from the Cincinnati Bengals.
That deal gave the Bills more ammunition for potentially striking another trade in search of a quarterback.
Patriots Pick Up No. 23 from Rams for Brandin Cooks
One year after giving up a first-round pick to acquire wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the Saints, the New England Patriots sent Cooks to the Los Angeles Rams for a first-rounder.
The Rams sent the Nos. 23 and 198 overall picks in the 2018 draft to the Pats for Cooks and the No. 136 overall selection.
That deal strengthened an already talented Rams receiving corps and gave New England two first-round picks, as it also owned No. 31.
