2018 NFL Draft Rumors: Giants, Bills Could Make Trade Involving No. 2 Pick

Mike ChiariApr 4, 2018

The Buffalo Bills could acquire the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft from the New York Giants, according to ESPN's Todd McShay.

In McShay's latest mock draft released Wednesday (h/t Ryan Talbot of NYup.com), he wrote that he is "hearing a lot of buzz" regarding a trade between Buffalo and New York.

McShay predicted that Buffalo will send the No. 12, No. 22 and No. 53 overall picks to the Giants for the second selection, which they will use to take Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane has been active this offseason by picking up draft capital.

He has already moved up in the first round, as he sent the 21st pick and offensive tackle Cordy Glenn to the Cincinnati Bengals for the No. 12 overall selection.

Buffalo has clearly been targeting a quarterback since it traded previous starter Tyrod Taylor to the Cleveland Browns and signed former Bengals backup AJ McCarron.

The New York Jets complicated the situation by moving up from No. 6 to No. 3 in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts.

With the Browns likely to take a quarterback first overall and the Jets almost certain to do the same at No. 3, it leaves the Giants as a wild card.

They could take a quarterback to serve as the heir apparent to 37-year-old Eli Manning, but they have plenty of other needs on both sides of the ball.

Buffalo's most glaring need is at quarterback, a position it has struggled to fill to its satisfaction since Hall of Famer Jim Kelly's retirement after the 1996 season.

Bleacher Report's Matt Miller also expects the Bills to trade up for a quarterback, but he predicted in his latest mock that they will nab UCLA's Josh Rosen after ascending to No. 6 in a swap with the Colts.
