Josh Adams Declares for 2018 NFL Draft After 3 Seasons at Notre Dame
Notre Dame running back Josh Adams will forgo his senior season after declaring for the 2018 NFL draft.
Adams announced his decision on Instagram:
Adams has been one of the most efficient running backs in the country throughout his career, totaling 1,768 yards in his first two seasons at an average of 6.5 yards per carry.
He was even better in 2017 with more touches, rushing for 1,430 yards and nine touchdowns. He ranked 12th among qualified FBS players in yards per carry (6.9).
Although he had game-changers in Mike McGlinchey and Quenton Nelson on the offensive line, Adams did a lot of the work himself.
"He can run you over, he can run away from you, he can make you miss, or he can run through you," running backs coach Autry Denson said in November, per Adam Rittenberg of ESPN.com. "Josh is as complete as you can get."
At 6'2", 225 pounds, Adams has the size you'd like in an early-down back. If he can add a receiving element to his game, he'll be all the more valuable.
Notre Dame has several options to fill the void next season in Deon McIntosh, Tony Jones Jr. and Dexter Williams.
