Reuben Foster Sends Teams Apology Letter After 2017 NFL Combine Dismissal

Adam WellsMar 5, 2017

After being sent home from the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine for getting into a tiff with a hospital staffer, Alabama star linebacker Reuben Foster has apologized to all 32 NFL teams.

Per NFL Network's Kimberly Jones on Sunday, Foster's agent sent a letter to every NFL team apologizing for the incident.

On Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter shared a letter Foster sent to teams offering up a chance to meet with him after the apology:

Schefter reported last Friday that the league sent Foster home from the combine for a "heated argument with a hospital worker." Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports added Foster "felt mistreated" but there "wasn't a physical confrontation."

Via Michael Casagrande of AL.com, Foster said in a live Instagram video that "nothing happened." He also said to ask Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson—his Alabama teammates who were in the same medical-evaluation group—about the situation.

Per NFL.com's Chase Goodbread, Anderson said the whole situation was "blown out of proportion," but he didn't elaborate on what happened between Foster and the hospital worker.

Foster wasn't going to participate in any of the drills at this year's combine after having surgery on his right rotator cuff last month. He is still regarded as one of the top prospects in the 2017 draft class despite the injury and the incident with the hospital worker. Bleacher Report NFL draft guru Matt Miller ranked Foster as the third-best prospect on his most recent top 100 that posted before the combine.

Foster was a standout on Alabama's defense in 2016. He was a unanimous All-American and won the Butkus Award as the nation's top linebacker after recording 115 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss and five sacks.
