NFL Scores Week 8: Results, Standings and Top Fantasy Stars from AFC, NFC Games

Andy BaileyOct 30, 2016

The 2016 NFL season already has its second tie, as the Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals ended their Week 8 battle at 27-27 in London.

"I don't really know how to feel," Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan said, per the team's Twitter account. "It feels more like a loss than a win. ... It's really awkward."

Fantasy production from the game wasn't much more inspiring than the final score, though quarterback Kirk Cousins did manage a solid outing with 458 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Notable Week 8 Performers

Tom Brady

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's streak of dominant starts continued Sunday, when he threw for 315 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-25 win over the Buffalo Bills.

Brady's so on fire, he even picked up a fantasy point on the ground. The NFL shared video footage of the 15-yard scamper:

New England, now 4-0 since Brady returned from his suspension following Week 4, is in complete control of the AFC East.

There are still some question marks on defense, but as long as Brady is under center, the Patriots should be able to outscore just about any opponent.

Blake Bortles

The disappointing Jaguars fell to 2-5 on the season, but Bortles had his best game of the season as a passer Thursday.

He posted season highs in passing yards, touchdowns and passer rating, and most importantly, he didn't throw an interception.

The NFL shared a replay of one of his scoring throws:

Turnovers have been a problem for Bortles throughout his career. He threw 17 interceptions as a rookie in 2014, led the NFL with 18 the next season and already has nine in 2016.

If he can continue to play the kind of smart football we saw in Week 8, the Jags may have a chance to get back into the wide-open AFC South.

Derek Carr

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr may have turned in the passing performance of the year against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

He was 40-of-59 for 513 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Those are new season highs for any quarterback in the league for completions and passing yards.

His final completion was a game-winning touchdown in overtime. The NFL shared the replay:

For parts of the season, the Raiders offense has been more promise than results. Days like Sunday serve as a reminder of what Carr and his receivers are capable of.

Another quarterback who lit it up Sunday was the Green Bay Packers' Aaron Rodgers. After throwing for 246 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions, all the talk of his slump could finally come to an end.

What was especially impressive about Rodgers' performance was the relative anonymity of some of his receivers prior to Week 8. ESPN Stats & Info reported Rodgers had never completed a pass to two of his touchdown recipients prior to Sunday:

And on top of all that, Rodgers was also the Packers' leading rusher with 60 yards. The NFL shared video of one his runs for a first down:

All game, Rodgers was a one-man wrecking machine.
