2017 NFL Mock Draft: 1st-Round Predictions for Top Prospects After Week 7
We're almost halfway through the NFL season, but the 2017 NFL draft order remains a jumbled mess. Very few teams have separated themselves to the top or bottom of the standings, creating a draft order that is changing dramatically from week to week.
The order used for the mock draft below is accurate entering Monday Night Football, using the full-season strength of schedule as a tiebreaker for teams with the same record.
As for the prospects, there is a little more clarity. Multiple prospects are having strong seasons and have established themselves as likely first-round selections. A few of these notable prospects have been highlighted below:

3. Chicago Bears: Mitch Trubisky, QB, North Carolina

North Carolina Tar Heels quarterback Mitch Trubisky might be the hottest prospect in the nation right now.
North Carolina had high hopes for their 6'3", 220-pound quarterback, who took over for the graduated Marquise Williams this season. However, few could have expected him to be this dominant in his first year as the Tar Heels starter.
Tar Heel Illustrated recently shared Trubisky's impressive stats in non-hurricane conditions:
"To Clarify, aside from the hurricane game, Mitch Trubisky has completed 75.4 % of his passes ave. 331 yards per game w 18 TDs and ZERO INTs.
— Tar Heel Illustrated (@HeelIllustrated) October 23, 2016"
Trubisky's draft stock is also benefiting from the fact many other top prospects are struggling. Clemson's Deshaun Watson has been shaky throughout the season, and Notre Dame's DeShone Kizer is just a week removed from getting benched.
If Trubisky continues to perform at a high level, he could be in the conversation for the No. 1 overall selection by season's end.
14. Indianapolis Colts: Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU

Just in case people thought Leonard Fournette's draft stock was slipping due to his injury-plagued season, he made sure to remind them who the most dominant running back in the nation is Saturday night.
Against a respectable Ole Miss defense, Fournette racked up 284 rushing yards on just 16 carries—an LSU school record.
Despite some productive moments from veteran Frank Gore, the Indianapolis Colts rushing attack has been a disappointment over the past two seasons. Through the first seven games this year, the Colts have topped 100 yards on the ground just once.
Fournette's power running style combined with Andrew Luck's talent in the passing game could give the Colts the well-rounded offense they've been lacking in recent years.
30. Dallas Cowboys: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama

Rookie quarterback Dak Prescott has found immediate success with the Dallas Cowboys. And tight end Jason Witten has played a significant role in his smooth transition to the league.
Through Prescott's first six games, Witten leads the team with 42 targets.
Witten is 34 years old, however, and is only under contract through the 2017 season. The Cowboys front office is aware the Witten era is coming to a close and will likely make a move soon to create a smooth transition to a new era at tight end.
While Witten is a valuable receiver, he has always been one of the most well-rounded tight ends in the league and plays a key role in the Cowboys blocking scheme. Dallas will likely look to find a similar prospect to replace him.
O.J. Howard plays a similar role at Alabama. In fact, his impressive athleticism and receiving skills are often overlooked due to the rate at which he's used as an extra blocker on the Crimson Tide offensive line.
Howard's well-rounded skill set could make him an ideal replacement for Witten in Dallas.
