Tyron Smith Injury: Updates on Cowboys OT's Back, Hip and Return
Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle Tyron Smith continues to deal with a back injury, along with hip issues, but is active against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11, according to David Helman of DallasCowboys.com.Ā Ā
Smith was listed as questionable to play against the Ravens on Sunday, perĀ Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan.Ā
Smith had been one of Dallas' most consistent offensive linemen over his first five seasons in the league. In fact, he had more Pro Bowl selections (three) than he had missed games (one) from 2011 to '15.Ā
His presence on the line also helped the Cowboys become a top-10 rushing team in each of the past two seasons.Ā
The same kind of results were expected this season, as Football Outsiders ranked the Cowboys offensive line as the sixth-best run-blocking unit in the NFL.Ā
They've paved the way for rookie rusher Ezekiel Elliott to put up 1,005 yardsĀ through the first nine gamesĀ of his career, which leadsĀ the league this season.Ā
But Smith has missed more games this year than he had in his previous five, as back issues have held him out for two games already.
