Manny Lawson Reportedly Suspended: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction
Free-agent linebacker Manny Lawson has reportedly been suspended two games by the NFL, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
No specific reason was given for Lawson's suspension.
Last month, Jay Skurski of the Buffalo News reported the NFL was investigating an alleged domestic incident involving Lawson.
Lawson's agent, Jonathan Feinted, told Skurski that Lawson "was not involved in a domestic-violence incident."
Tim Graham of the Buffalo News reported on August 18 public records showed Lawson had been arrested in 2014 for "disorderly conduct/domestic violence" in Scottsdale, Arizona.
On the same day as Graham's report, the Bills issued a statement confirming that Lawson was being investigated by the NFL for a potential violation of the league's personal-conduct policy.
The Bills placed Lawson on the non-football injury list with a partially torn pectoral suffered while doing bench presses in July. He was cleared to practice on August 16 and planned to play in Week 1.
However, the Bills wound up releasing Lawson on September 2 as part of the final roster cut downs. The 32-year-old spent the last three years in Buffalo, appearing in 47 of a possible 48 games.
Lawson has also played with the San Francisco 49ers and Cincinnati Bengals since being a first-round draft pick in 2006.
