NFL Schedule Week 1: TV Coverage, Game Times and Live-Stream Map
That sound you hear? It's millions of people clamoring for the best seat in front of the TV for America's new favorite pastime: football.
Yes, it's Week 1 of the 2016 NFL regular season. The Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos officially kicked off the season on Thursday, 26 more teams are on the schedule for Sunday and a Monday night doubleheader will close things out.
In Thursday's game, the defending Super Bowl champs denied the Panthers a shot at revenge, winning 21-20 after Carolina kicker Graham Gano missed a last-second field goal. The NFL shared video of the kick that sailed left:
Broncos second-year quarterback Trevor Siemian won his first career start, thanks in large part to C.J. Anderson's 139 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. If Siemian can continue to play solid and defer to the running game and defense, the Broncos could find themselves back in the title hunt.
The other 30 teams that will be chasing them are set to start their seasons as well. All of them will be on TV, and 506 Sports shared regional-coverage maps that break down which games will be on where:

The Games Everyone Can Watch
New England Patriots at Arizona Cardinals
The absence of suspended quarterback Tom Brady already had the New England Patriots in a tough spot against the Arizona Cardinals. Saturday's news on Rob Gronkowski makes a Pats win even tougher to imagine.
Gronkowski, who had 11 touchdowns and averaged 16.3 yards per reception in 2015, has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. According to Will Brinson of CBS Sports, that loss pushed Vegas to move the line on this game to a full touchdown:
"Arizona was favored by 6 points on Friday afternoon and by the time the Patriots officially ruled out Gronk on Friday night, the line was already up to 7.
That's 'just' a point, but it can't be overstated how big that point is. Money is pouring in on the Cardinals and has been for a while -- 79 percent of the money is on the Cards, according to Vegas Insider.
And the difference between minus-6 and minus-7, even with the randomness of extra points increasing in recent years, is massive. Three and seven are the magic numbers, and to move a line to -7 it's going to take a lot for Vegas.
"
The Cardinals were already favored by almost a touchdown before the news on Gronk for good reason. They had one of the best offenses in the NFL last season, finishing second in both yards and points per drive.
The most important ingredients to that attack—Chris and David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald and Carson Palmer—are all back for 2016. Arizona will test the Pats defense all night.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Washington Redskins
The first game on Monday night has one of this week's most intriguing one-on-one matchups. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown tied for first in receptions in 2015 with a whopping 136. He was second in receiving yards with 1,834 and hauled in 10 touchdowns.
Lining up across from him is new Washington Redskin Josh Norman, who was a critical piece for a Panthers defense that ranked second in defensive DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average) last season.
"When you look at a wide receiver in the NFL, you don't have to stop anywhere other than Antonio Brown," Norman said of the matchup, per Alaina Getzenberg of Redskins.com. "It starts and it ends with him. That's going to be a tall task to take on and I respect that 110 percent. I'm looking forward to what he will bring because that matchup is obviously going to be a physical one and it's going to be a fun one."
Norman, who's no stranger to the kind of physical play he mentioned, will likely try to rough up Brown and get in his head. But even with Norman's reputation, Brown doesn't seem too worried about the potential for a dustup.
"I'm a professional football player," Brown said, per ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler. "I'm not a fighter. We have equipment. Our job is to go out there and score touchdowns and catch the football."
Whoever wins the mental battle has the inside track on the physical battle. And the winner of that will put his team in a good position to win the game.
Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers
The two most famous quarterbacks in the matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers will start the season on the bench.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft, Jared Goff, won't even be in uniform for the Rams, per NFL.com:
Colin Kaepernick, who's gained national attention over his protest of the U.S. national anthem, will be the backup for Blaine Gabbert, who was recently praised by Niners head coach Chip Kelly, per Janie McCauley of the Press Democrat:
"The one thing about Blaine and that you admire is there's a consistency to him in his approach. So I think he approaches every day kind of similar, which is what you want out of all your players. He's got an outstanding work ethic. He obviously has the athleticism and the skill set to be a quarterback, but you continue to see him on a daily basis, how much film he studies, how much time he's in this building, how much work he does on his craft. So it's a lot of fun to watch a guy that spends that much time trying to make himself better get the opportunity that he's earned on Monday night.
"
That opportunity in the last game of the week comes against a Rams defense that ranked in the bottom third of the league in passing yards allowed last season.
But L.A. should be able to improve on that ranking this season, thanks to a defensive line led by Aaron Donald and Robert Quinn. If those two can break down the protection in front of Gabbert, it could be a long and painful night for the young quarterback.
