Red Sox Affiliate to Host 'Free Brady Friday,' All Toms and Bradys Get in Free

Thomas DuffyMay 31, 2016

The term "Free Brady" is taking on an entirely new meaning.

On June 10, the Pawtucket Red Sox, Triple-A affiliate of their MLB namesake, will honor New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady with a fascinating promotion, as relayed by Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe:

For starters, anyone named Tom or Brady gets in free.

Box seat prices will be lowered $1 to equal Brady's uniform number (12). Ceremonial first pitches will be made with footballs. The first 3,000 fans will also be given placards:

For Patriots fans, this will be heaven.

"Tom Brady is one of the region's most beloved athletes and public figures," Pawtucket senior vice president and general manager Dan Rea III said, per CBS Boston. "This evening allows PawSox fans, so many of whom are Patriots fans, to show their support for him."

Of course, the star quarterback will be forced to sit out the first four games of the 2016 NFL season because of his role in the never-ending Deflategate saga.

While that's surely frustrating for Pats supporters, "Free Brady Friday" should provide some relief.
