Johnny Manziel's Friends Reportedly Concerned for Him Due to Alcohol, Drug Use
Off-field issues drove former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel out of the NFL, but now those close to the signal-caller are reportedly worried about his health.
According to TMZ Sports, Manziel's friends are concerned that his alcohol and drug-abuse problems have gotten out of control.
One source told TMZ Sports that Manziel is in a "horrible downward spiral," while another said, "If he continues this way for much longer, he will die."

The Browns waived Manziel in March.
Per TMZ Sports, the 23-year-old former Heisman Trophy winner has been partying nonstop, and he reportedly refused to listen when friends confronted him about his substance-abuse issues.
Manziel was indicted on a misdemeanor assault charge in April after his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, alleged that he struck and threatened her in January, according to CNN.com's Jill Martin.
After being selected with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft, Manziel spent two seasons with the Browns, going 2-6 as a starter with just seven touchdown passes and seven interceptions.
Teams have steered clear of him despite the need for quality quarterbacks in the NFL.
It isn't uncommon for troubled players to get second chances in the NFL if they are talented enough, but until Manziel is willing to make some changes on a personal level, it is difficult to imagine that he'll play another down.
