Broncos LB Shane Ray Gets Chiefs Tattoo, Defends Himself on Social Media

Kyle NewportMar 16, 2016

Being from Kansas City and playing for the Denver Broncos has put linebacker Shane Ray in a tough spot.

Obviously, Ray is proud to be a member of the reigning Super Bowl champions. But at the same time, he loves his hometown through and through—even the Kansas City Chiefs.

The only problem is that the Chiefs are one of the Broncos' main rivals. It's not a problem for him, but, of course, it might be for Denver fans.

Ray recently took to Instagram to show off his insanely detailed back tattoo that features the skyline of "The Town" as well as the logos of Kansas City's professional sports teams, including the Chiefs.

Here's what he had to say about the ink:

"

Shout out to @kattatgirl for killing my back piece. She took the idea I had for my city and finessed lol Everyone knows how I feel about being from Kansas City Mo and that's real pride. As always I represent "The Town" for everyone that is salty because I take pride in the city that made me who I am today, you weren't with me then and I won't bother me if your not there now #56nightscrazy #Kc #KatTat

"

There are those who can respect the fact that the second-year linebacker is proud of his hometown. However, some diehard Denver fans may take exception to a Broncos player getting a rival team's logo inked on his body.

For those people, Ray has this response:

It may be tough for some Broncos fans to accept, but at the end of the day, you can't fault a person for being proud of where he comes from.
