Michael Thomas at Ohio State Pro Day 2016: Photos, Video Highlights and Reaction
NFL draft wide receiver prospect Michael Thomas was one of the many players involved in Ohio State's pro day Friday, as he showed a packed house of scouts what he's capable of bringing to the next level.
Thanks to the amount of possible first-round talent that Ohio State had last season, all 32 teams were in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday and sent a total of 125 representatives, according to NFL.com's Dan Parr. In ESPN.com analyst Mel Kiper Jr.'s latest mock draft, he has six Buckeyes projected to go in the first round.
Thomas, though, is not one of those names, but he helped out his case, starting with the 40-yard dash, which drew a big crowd, as the Associated Press' Hayden Grove showed:

Per ESPN.com's Austin Ward, the results were impressive, with hand-clocked times of 4.43 seconds:
That's a solid improvement from the 4.57-second 40 that he ran at the NFL combine at the end of February. If Thomas ran that 4.43 mark at the combine, he would have tied Auburn's Ricardo Louis for the fourth-fastest time among all wide receivers in 2016, per NFL.com.
He benefited even more from the huge arm of quarterback Cardale Jones whose deep balls allowed Thomas to show off his speed even more.
Grove showed one of their hook ups as Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin watched:
Thomas was also able to show off his quick hands and footwork in the end zone, via ElevenWarriors.com's Jeremy Birmingham:
At 6'3", 212 pounds, Thomas is a nice, big target for a pro quarterback to look for. With that kind of speed, he can be utilized in different route-running scenarios on the outside, which could be very difficult to defend against in the NFL.
The New England Patriots look like they're keen on Thomas and are bringing him in for a workout next week, according to draft insider and Walter Football's Tony Pauline. The problem is that the Patriots don't have a first-round selection in this year's draft due to penalties from Deflategate.
Thomas told Cleveland.com's Tom Reed he's already had "multiple meetings" with the Cleveland Browns, including one Thursday. Reed views Thomas as a "legit option" with the 32nd overall pick.
Kiper has Ole Miss' Laquon Treadwell, Notre Dame's Will Fuller and TCU's Josh Doctson as the only wide receivers being selected in the first round. However, WalterFootball.com has Thomas ranked as the third-best wide receiver prospect in the 2016 draft class behind Treadwell and Fuller.
With this solid pro day Friday, Thomas could make his way into the first round of Kiper's next mock draft and become a top priority for teams looking for wide receiver help.
