NFL Combine 2016: Live Results, Analysis and Highlights for OL, RB Workouts
The 2016 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana, began Friday.
Well, technically, the combine process started two days ago, but the fun part finally ensued: the on-field drills and testing. The running backs and offensive linemen were on display as they ran the 40-yard dash, completed multiple drills and competed in position-specific workouts.
Each year, the combine serves as the brain center of the league as they poke, prod and test the majority of incoming talent from the collegiate ranks. Despite the importance of the medical evaluations and team interviews, the workouts headline the event.
Ole Miss' Laremy Tunsil, Notre Dame's Ronnie Stanley, Michigan State's Jack Conklin, Indiana's Jason Spriggs, Kansas State's Cody Whitehair and Ohio State's Taylor Decker and Ezekiel Elliott all competed.
The reigning Heisman Trophy winner, Derrick Henry—all 247 pounds of him—put on a show as well.
Friday is the first of four-straight on-field testing days. Everyone looks forward to the wide receivers and cornerbacks blazing 4.3-second 40-yard-dash times or the quarterbacks slinging the ball, but the first day of drills was all about the big boys and those they block for in the running game.
