Jake Long's Deal with Ravens Falls Through After OT Doesn't Sign Injury Waiver
Offensive tackle Jake Long's one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens has fallen through after the veteran refused to sign an injury waiver, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Long spent time with the Miami Dolphins—the team that drafted him No. 1 overall in the 2008 draft—and the then-St. Louis Rams prior to joining Atlanta in 2015.
He was once considered one of the top offensive tackles in the NFL—he was voted to four straight Pro Bowls from 2008 to 2011 and was a first-team All-NFL selection by the Associated Press in 2010—but in 2015, he could barely get on the field, buried behind Jake Matthews and Ryan Schraeder on the depth chart at tackle.

That made it an almost foregone conclusion that Long, 31, would hit free agency and look for a potential starting gig rather than remain in Atlanta as a backup.
If Long's knee checks out, the offensive tackle should be able to find a home on a team that is looking for veteran help on the offensive line next season.
