Patriots Coach Bill Belichick Shows Up with Black Eye After 1st-Round Bye

The New England Patriots were supposed to use their first-round bye to get healthy, but not everybody got through the week unscathed.

New England coach Bill Belichick showed up to Tuesday morning's media session with a shiner above his left eye.


It's not known what led to the black eye, but Belichick doesn't seem too worried about it. 

"I don't think we need to list the coaches on the injury report," Belichick said, per ESPN.com's Mike Reiss. "But I'm sure if we're required to do it, we'll do it."

Feel free to share your theories as to how you think Belichick got the shiner. Was he at a wild party with Gronk that got out of control? Is Belichick "the other guy" Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan was talking about?

A day after showing off his shiner, Belichick reportedly walked through the Patriots' locker room with boxing gloves:
