Beckham Breaks Record for Most Receiving Yards Through 2 Seasons

Bleacher Report MilestonesJan 7, 2016

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. set a record for the most receiving yards through the first two years of a player's career, with his 2,755 narrowly besting Randy Moss' old mark of 2,726, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Incredibly, the 23-year-old former LSU standout has accomplished this feat despite missing five games through his first two seasons, including the first four games of his rookie campaign.

Moss played all 32 games in his first two years, averaging 85.2 receiving yards per contest, compared to a stunning 102.0 for Beckham.

However, Moss does have the advantage in one key category, with his 28 receiving touchdowns (0.88 per game) setting a still-standing record for the first two seasons of a player's career.

Beckham, of course, isn't all that far behind, having scored 25 times to date in his career, with his average of .93 touchdowns per game actually putting him a bit ahead of Moss.

Interestingly enough, the record for most receptions through two seasons is held by Beckham's college teammate and 2014 NFL draft classmate Jarvis Landry, who has caught 194 passes in 32 games for the Miami Dolphins, per the Times-Picayune.

Of course, Landry doesn't offer the same explosiveness as Beckham or Moss, averaging just 9.9 yards per reception, with only nine touchdowns through the air.
