Brady Leads NFL in Touchdown Passes for 1st Time Since 2010

Bleacher Report MilestonesJan 7, 2016

Despite a slow finish to the season, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady finished his campaign as the NFL leader in touchdown passes for the first time since 2010, with his 36 narrowly edging out Blake Bortles, Eli Manning, Cam Newton and Carson Palmer, all of whom tossed 35 touchdowns, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Brady only threw one touchdown over the final two weeks of the season yet still finished the year with 13 multi-score games, including nine in a row to begin the campaign.

He completed 402 of his 624 pass attempts (64.4 percent) for 4,770 yards, with only seven interceptions and two lost fumbles.

Already historically great at avoiding turnovers, Brady's seven interceptions in 2015 were the fewest ever by an NFL quarterback in a season that included 600 or more pass attempts, per Sportsnet Stats.

Despite leading the league in touchdown passes four times (2002, 2007, 2010 and 2015) and passing yards twice (2005 and 2007), Brady has never thrown more than 14 interceptions in a season, even falling short of double-digit picks in three of the last four years.

Among players with 1,500 or more career passes, only Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (1.6 percent) has thrown interceptions on a lower percentage of his attempts than Brady (1.9).
