Tom Coughlin stepped down as head coach of the New York Giants on Monday, and during his final press conference on Tuesday, the two-time Super Bowl champion let quarterback Eli Manning know the change wasn't his fault.
Manning said responsibility for the team's failure fell on the players, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com. However, like any coach would, Coughlin made sure his veteran quarterback knew it's about the team—which includes the coaching staff, not just the players.
Obviously, it was tough for Manning to see the only NFL coach he has ever known step down. The two have been through a lot together since coming on board in 2004, including a pair of championship runs.
So before he was gone for good, Coughlin delivered one final message to Manning.
