Following the Carolina Panthers' 38-10 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 17 to wrap up a 15-1 regular season, quarterback Cam Newton took a "victory lap" at Bank of America Stadium to celebrate with the fans.
Things got a little crazy when Newton saw a couple of Buccaneers fans displaying their jerseys in the first row.
The NFL MVP favorite ran along the stands and handed out high-fives as he went. When he got to the Tampa Bay fans, Newton snatched one of the jerseys (a Jameis Winston jersey) and tried to run with it. However, he took a spill while yanking it away.
That's probably not the way the Panthers quarterback envisioned his victory lap.
Newton left the Winston jersey on the ground when he got up to continue celebrating with the fans, so hopefully the Buccaneers fan was able to get it back.
Newton grabbed headlines earlier this season when he tore down a Green Bay Packers fan's sign in the stands at the Panthers' stadium. That was the Carolina star's way of protecting his home turf, something he once again did this past weekend.
