2016 NFL Draft Big Board: Matt Miller's Latest Rankings

    Jeff Haynes/Associated Press

Who are the best players available for the 2016 NFL draft? That's what the updated big board looks to tackle.

It's officially draft season for many NFL teams, and that means fans are seeking to be introduced to the class of eligible players. And while this list isn't complete—not before the January 18 underclassmen deadline—it's a good start if you're looking for information on the top names at each position.

A lot will change between now and the April 30 draft, with four months of information likely to move everything around. But the top players are pretty much the most coveted prospects throughout the process. And the top 300 players are here for you, as are the top 10 at each position.

Overall Top 300

When I was first breaking into scouting right out of high school, I emailed and talked on the phone a lot with Charley Casserly, who was the general manager of the Houston Texans at the time. One thing he told me then that I try to always remember now is that scouting is fluid. No grade should ever be filed and forgotten.

More information is always coming in on players. That may be more game film, more workout results or more information from area scouts about things like character and medicals.

Where am I going with this?

All that is to say that grades should change, and if you're comparing this big board to the one I did a month ago, you're going to see some changes. Some of that is due to injuries or having time to catch up on a prospect or an underclassman's declaration that shuffles the rankings. And it should be noted that these rankings are changing every day thanks to underclassmen declaring before the January 18 deadline.

This is not a final big board but a look at how the rankings are in early January. If your favorite player is missing, it could be due to his value not being in the top 100, or it could be that as a one-man show, I've simply missed him. If that's the case, ask me in the comments or on Twitter, and I'll point you in the right direction.
