NFL Week 16 Betting Picks: Redskins, Texans and Chiefs NFL Odds Selections

Some may argue that no division in the NFL is messier than the NFC East this year. With New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. suspended (pending an appeal) for their Sunday night matchup with the Minnesota Vikings following his outburst last week, that might indeed be the case.

The other two teams battling for the division crown will take center stage Saturday night, though, when the Philadelphia Eagles (6-8) host the Washington Redskins (7-7). Losses by the Eagles and Giants (6-8) eliminate them.

All the Redskins need to do is earn a victory at Philadelphia to settle who the best team is in the NFC East this season. They have won three of their last four games both straight up and against the spread and find themselves as three-point road underdogs versus the Eagles at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.

The bad news for Philly is that the favorite is 0-3 ATS in the past three meetings, and Washington is 3-0 ATS in the last three as 'dogs in the series, according to the Odds Shark NFL Database. Take the Redskins to pull off the upset and make Week 17 boring for their division rivals.

The Houston Texans (7-7) may not know who will be under center yet for Sunday’s AFC South game against the Tennessee Titans (3-11). But they do know Zach Mettenberger will be starting at quarterback for the Titans.

With a win likely clinching the division for Houston, the team will be extremely motivated to beat Tennessee here regardless of whether Brian Hoyer or Brandon Weeden starts.

The Texans have covered the spread in eight of the past nine meetings, so back them in this spot on the road after checking the latest NFL betting lines.

Currently the Kansas City Chiefs (9-5) have the longest winning streak in the AFC at eight games and hope to make it nine in a row with a home victory against the Cleveland Browns (3-11) on Sunday.

The Chiefs can also clinch a playoff berth by beating the Browns and having either the New York Jets (9-5) or Pittsburgh Steelers (9-5) lose. Kansas City has gone 5-2 ATS in its last seven games as a double-digit favorite and failed to cover just once during the winning streak.

Keep riding the Chiefs as a 13.5-point betting favorite.
