Adrian Peterson Comments on Vikings Coaching Staff After Loss to Seahawks
The Minnesota Vikings are one of the surprise teams of the 2015 NFL season at 8-4, but not even that was enough to satisfy star running back Adrian Peterson after Sundayโs 38-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
According to Derek Wetmore of 1500ESPN.com, the former Oklahoma Sooner said the Seahawks were โmore aggressive, played more physical and they outcoached us as well.โ
Itโs hard to argue that Seattle was the more aggressive team, but the thing that jumps out about that quote is Petersonโs questioning of the coaching. His frustration likely stemmed from the fact he only had eight carries for 18 yards, although much of that was dictated by the game after Seattle jumped out to a 21-0 lead by halftime and forced the Vikings to air it out in comeback mode.

It was the fewest carries for Peterson in any game he finished healthy since December of his rookie season in 2007.
Wetmore also noted Peterson said the Vikings were outcoached in โso many different areasโ and addressed the early deficit:
"When you go down 21 [points] it kind of changed things, but still you want to come out and, based on how things looked the first half with the pass game and the run game, you come as coaches and you try to adjust. And as players, too, you try to adjust and see how you can improve, and things you can do better. Today we werenโt able to do that.
"
Peterson wasnโt the only one who recognized some potential issues with the play-calling.
Even head coach Mike Zimmer weighed in on the development, per Wetmore: "Well, we kind of got away from who we are a little bit when the score got 14-0. Then throwing an interception, poor throw by Teddy. Then itโs 21-0 at halftime, and we still couldnโt get anything going offensively. We didnโt block very good, we didnโt throw the ball good today."
While Peterson was frustrated after Sundayโs contest, Minnesota was first in the league in rushing yards per game heading into Week 13. The Vikings were also third in the league in total rushing attempts, and Peterson himself led the NFL in rushing yards and rushing attempts for individual players.
Every running back in the league would likely love to get Petersonโs workload.
He also questioned the coaching in Week 11 after a loss to the Green Bay Packers and saw 29 carries for 158 yards and two touchdowns the next game against the Atlanta Falcons. If that pattern sticks, Peterson will probably see plenty of touches in Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals.
