Bengals DE Wallace Gilberry Surprises Family of 7 by Buying PlayStation 4, Games
“I want to bless you and your family tonight.”
Mission accomplished, Wallace Gilberry.
The Cincinnati Bengals defensive end jump-started the season of giving with a heartwarming random act of kindness at a Target in Newport, Kentucky, on Monday night.
Gilberry decided to surprise a family of seven with a new PlayStation 4, a handful of games and a controller. Just spitballing, but that's probably at least $450 he just spent on strangers. And it was totally worth it.
The 30-year-old Bengal had set out to bring joy to a family, and as a result, he ended up seeing tears (of joy):
There's no doubt the Yeager family will now be rooting for Gilberry on Sundays.
“We’re definitely ordering his jersey now,” mother Angelica Yeager said, per Kara Foxx of Fox 19. "He’s got lifelong fans."
While Gilberry's gesture alone is a great story, his random act of kindness inspired the Yeager family to pay it forward. That's the way to do it in the season of giving.
This wasn't just a one-time thing for Gilberry. He has a history of giving back, as this Reddit page (h/t the Cincinnati Enquirer) shows.
