Buccaneers LB Kwon Alexander Has Career Game 24 Hours After Death of Brother

On Saturday, Kwon Alexanderโ€™s 17-year-old brother died.

On Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie linebacker was on the field having the game of his life against the Atlanta Falcons.

Alexander dedicated the gameโ€”and game ballโ€”to his brother. He finished with a team- (and career-) high 11 tackles to go along with an interception and a fumble recovery. Alexander dedicated a tweet to his lost kin:

The 21-year-old LSU product was understandably emotional after the contest. He spoke to Joe Kania of the teamโ€™s official site after the Bucs won, 23-20, in overtime:

"

(I was) very determined. It was the only thing on my mind because the only thing that he wanted was for me to ball. I gave this game to him.

Itโ€™s been hard, man, losing my little brother. I know he would want me to be strong for him so I came out here and dedicated this game to him. Iโ€™m just ready to be back with my family.

"

During an age when fantasy stats and superstars dominate headlines, stories like Alexanderโ€™s are still the most powerful.
