Ishmaa'ily Kitchen Signed by Lions, Phillip Hunt Cut: Latest Comments, Reaction
The struggling Detroit Lions are making a defensive line change, adding Ishmaa'ily Kitchen to their rotation and getting rid of Phillip Hunt to make room.
Paula Pasche of the Oakland Press reported the Lions' changes.
Hunt joined the Lions this season after playing his first three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. The 29-year-old appeared in two games for Detroit in 2015, recording six tackles and one sack.

Kitchen was a member of the Cleveland Browns from 2012-14, appearing in 40 games with 26 tackles. He signed a restricted free-agent tender with them last offseason, but he was released during the second round of cuts in September.
The Lions have had issues on the defensive line this season, particularly keeping players healthy. Tyrunn Walker, who has started all four games in 2015, suffered a broken fibula against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday and will be placed on injured reserve, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Haloti Ngata did not practice with the Lions on Wednesday, leaving his status for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals up in the air.
The defensive tackle situation, which was a strength in Detroit last season with Ndamukong Suh in the middle, has been erratic so far in 2015. Ngata has just four tackles without a sack. Hunt did have one sack coming off the edge, but the Lions have outside pass-rushers like Ezekiel Ansah and Devin Taylor for that.
Kitchen at least gives head coach Jim Caldwell a veteran option with some starting experience to plug in if the Lions have to play this week without Ngata, along with depth for the rest of this season with Walker out.
