The star junior suffered a torn meniscus during a practice session in September that ended his 2015 campaign early.
According to Jack Wang of the Los Angeles Daily News, Mora said after Jack's injury was first diagnosed he was "uncertain" if the 20-year-old would remain in school and that the two would talk about it at the end of November.
B/R NFL draft expert Matt Miller noted Jack was a first-round talent before being injured, so rehabbing specifically to be at full strength when working out for NFL scouts is rational on Jack's part.
If Jack does slip out of the first round, Miller noted the linebacker has a $5 million insurance policy to protect him.
In a similar situation to Jack's, Todd Gurley wasn't hurt too much, if at all, by leaving Georgia after his junior year last season after suffering a torn ACL. St. Louis drafted him with the 10th overall pick, and he just had his first career 100-yard rushing performance in his second game.
Jack is doing what's best for him. There's still so much time between now and the draft in April 2016 that things will change many times. The now-former UCLA star may end up going where he hoped before the injury happened or could slide a few spots if teams don't like how his medicals check out.
