Canty Active for Week 7

Monday, Oct. 26

Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com confirmed Canty was not among the team's inactives for tonight's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Latest on Canty's Playing Status Ahead of Week 7

Saturday, Oct. 24

Darren Urban of ArizonaCardinals.com announced Canty is listed as probable to play against the Cardinals.

Canty's Injury History, Impact of His Absence

Canty has been a reliable member of the Ravens defensive line rotation over the past couple of years, with one sack and one pass defended through two games in 2015. The 32-year-old veteran previously made stops with the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants, filling a similar role for more than a decade.

Injury issues have become a larger part of the story in recent years. Canty missed five games last season with ankle problems and a staph infection, which forced him to consider retirement before ultimately deciding to return to the Ravens for another year.

With Canty out, Lawrence Guy and Kapron Lewis-Moore both picked up extra snaps opposite Timmy Jernigan. It's a group that doesn't have much experience, as the three linemen have played fewer seasons combined than Canty has alone.
