Week 2 NFL Best Betting Picks: Revenge Angle Gives Bengals, Eagles, Packers Edge

OddsShark.comSep 17, 2015

After a fairly predictable Week 1 saw the public beat sportsbooks at their own game, Week 2 includes many teams trying to avoid an 0-2 start.

Meanwhile, revenge games are also prominent on the slate, with some marquee matchups taking center stage. One of this week’s best bets even features a team going for its first win and playing with revenge in mind.

First of all, the Cincinnati Bengals (three-point home favorites with sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark) host the San Diego Chargers in a rematch of a playoff game played two seasons ago.

The Bengals lost at home to the Chargers 27-10 as 6.5-point chalk in January 2014, with Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton turning the ball over three times, including two interceptions and a fumble. Dalton has not forgotten that performance and will be out to avenge that loss on Sunday in an early matchup between unbeaten AFC teams.

The second-best bet takes place in Philadelphia, where the Eagles (0-1) hope to bounce back from a tough road loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night with a victory against the Dallas Cowboys (1-0) on Sunday afternoon.

Philadelphia is a five-point betting favorite and lost the NFC East title to the Cowboys last year. But the Eagles picked up former Dallas running back DeMarco Murray as a free agent in the offseason, and the 2014 NFL rushing champion will look to burn his former team with a big game on the ground.

Last but certainly not least, one of the most important games of Week 2 has the Green Bay Packers (1-0) taking on the Seattle Seahawks (0-1) at Lambeau Field on Sunday night.

The Packers (-3.5) have lost the last three meetings with the Seahawks, including an epic battle in last year’s NFC Championship Game. However, Green Bay lost those three games at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field and will be home this time around.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was playing on an injured ankle in that conference title game, and the reigning NFL MVP will look to take advantage of a Seahawks secondary that's without strong safety Kam Chancellor as a result of a contract holdout.
