The Most Coveted NFL Jerseys This Season

Matt KingOct 2, 2015

Choosing which jersey you're going to get is always tricky. You have to be certain that a player is going to be on that team for the foreseeable future (sorry, LeSean McCoy fans), and you want to be sure that they are going to continue to be good just as long (sorry, anyone who bought a Peyton Hillis jersey).

But the most important thing, above all, is that you want to be positive that it will be cool. There's a difference between a good player and a cool player. Jersey game respects game.

So what are the most coveted jerseys this year? Which jerseys will everyone want and which ones will people see and give you one of those nods, like "nice"? Let's take a look.

Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans

1 of 6

Guys, get on the Marcus Mariota train and do it quickly.

Mariota posted the first-ever perfect quarterback rating in a rookie debut. He dismantled Tampa Bay with a 13-of-16, 209-yard, four-touchdown performance. He's cooled off a bit since then (there was nowhere to go but down, honestly), but this kid looks like he is going to be good for a while.

Look, rookies are always a risk, but that's the kind of performance that will get you mad props for rocking a Mariota jersey this early in the year.

Tom Brady, New England Patriots

2 of 6

Tom Brady is on a quest for revenge, and the entire NFL is going to feel his wrath. It may have been a tumultuous offseason for Tom Terrific, but since Game 1, it's been nothing but scorched earth.

The AFC Offensive Player of the Month for September, Brady has thrown for 370 yards per game, and while it's still early, he is on pace to break the single-season yardage record if he keeps it up. You do not want to get in Brady's way this season, but you do want to own that sweet No. 12 jersey.

Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons

3 of 6

Julio Jones has been one of the best receivers in the NFL for a few years, but it's possible he's somehow gotten even better. Which is scary.

Jones has feasted on the NFC East, embarrassing the Eagles, Giants and Cowboys for 440 yards and four touchdowns in three games.

If you have Jones in fantasy, you're happy. If you have his jersey, you're probably even happier.

Rob Gronkowski, New England Patriots

4 of 6

I'm going to be frank here: There's no reason not to have a Rob Gronkowski jersey at this point.

Do you like football? Do you like having fun? Do you like touchdowns? OK, then. What are you waiting for?

Odell Beckham Jr., New York Giants

5 of 6

Even though the Giants have struggled out of the gate, nobody can say that Odell Beckham Jr. isn't doing his part for the team. He's averaging almost 90 yards a game and has two touchdowns so far. And it says something about how good he is that people think he's just warming up.

This guy may be the coolest player in the NFL right now. He's on the cover of Madden 16, he's got interesting hair and he continues to defy the laws of physics when he takes the field. An ODB jersey will show that you know what's up.

J.J. Watt, Houston Texans

6 of 6

J.J. Watt sacked a quarterback in Week 1 without a helmet. The dude is insane.

Watt was already one of the NFL's biggest stars, but after a prime role in this season's Hard Knocks, Watt is everywhere, including opponents' backfields.

Watt is cool because he's totally dominant on the field and seemingly one of the nicest guys off of it. There's no downside to owning his jersey.
