Signs Pop Up All Over New England Congratulating Tom Brady and Thanking Judge

Dan CarsonSep 3, 2015

Tom Brady walked out of a New York federal court Thursday morning a free man—as he would've no matter how his lawsuit against the NFL panned out, because this is a legal battle over soft footballs, not the story of the Hurricane.

But don't tell this to the people of Boston, who are honoring Brady's victory over Roger Goodell and the dissolution of his four-game suspension like coups struck for democracy and free peoples the world over.

Judging by these billboards spotted by the Boston Globe's Shalise Manza Young, Brady probably wasn't even back home by the time electronic billboards celebrating his day in court began popping up around Boston and across Massachusetts.

NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 31: Quarterback Tom Brady of the New England Patriots leaves federal court after contesting his four game suspension with the NFL on August 31, 2015 in New York City. U.S. District Judge Richard Berman had required NFL commissioner

Even Judge Richard Berman is seeing fringe benefits after this landmark moment in American law.

NHL reporter Chantel McCabe spotted an image floating around on social media of a Dunkin' Donuts that has extended the casual offer of free caffeine for life to the judge.

Rhode Island Public Radio's Aaron Read says the sign was put up by a Dunkin' Donuts in Lewiston, Maine.

Even booze labels at Massachusetts breweries are assembling in support of Brady, per ESPN's Baxter Holmes.

So it appears most of New England is celebrating Brady's win, and I can only guess it won't be long before someone nominates September 3 to become America's next national holiday.

Dan is on Twitter. Free coffee and fast appeals. That trial was mad real.
