I couldn't think of a better way to start off the season.

Minnesota showed their greatness in a 34-20 win over the lowly, Cleveland Browns.

Off the bat, the Vikings were down by 3-0 after Phil Dawson connected on a short field goal.

After this, Minnesota was poised to take over the game.

In control, they were.

Adrian Peterson went off to a hot start with a quick score in the second quarter.

He went to the locker room where he would receive an IV due to him being hydrated and without much energy.

When all was said and done, Adrian rushed for 180 yards and scored three touchdowns.

Is there any doubt that this guy is the best running back in the league?

There shouldn't be.

Brett Favre went 14-21 with 110 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions.

So, it wasn't a great game for Brett, but he didn't make any mistakes like most people thought he would.

Favre did exactly what the Vikings coaching staff intended on him doing today.

On defense, E.J. Henderson led the team with 8 tackles and a sack.

Ben Leber and Chad Greenway combined for a total of 10 tackles.

The Browns only rushed for 89 yards, 57 of them coming from former pro-bowler, Jamal Lewis.

Brady Quinn completed 21 of 35 passes for 205 yards with a touchdown and an interception to go along with it.

All in all, there weren't many surprises in this game.

To be honest, it went about as good as I expected it to be.

On a down note, Benny Sapp was carted off the field with an apparent knee injury.

There is no telling how long he will be out from the Vikings team.

It's a good thing we have Asher Allen and Karl Paymah to replace him if he's out for a long period of time.

Other than that, no sugnificant injuries took place. Minnesota rested their starters at the end to secure that they would be fine for next weeks game against the Detroit Lions.

The Lions fell to the New Orleans Saints today by the score of 45-27.

Detroit has now lost 17 regular season games in a row dating back to week one of the 2008 season.

I will write a preview of this game by Friday at the latest.

Please read that article to check out predicted stats, score, and a full injury report list.
