Mariners Turn Bizarre 3-6-2 Triple Play vs. Blue Jays
In the top of the fourth inning of Sunday's game, the Toronto Blue Jays looked like they were in position to extend their lead over the Seattle Mariners.
Instead, they found themselves involved in one of the most bizarre triple plays we've ever seen.
Toronto second baseman Ryan Goins stepped to the plate against Seattle's Taijuan Walker with runners on the corners (Kevin Pillar on first and Ezequiel Carrera on third) and no outs. Craziness ensued when Goins pulled a sharp grounder to first base.

Had Carrera simply stayed on the bag, the inning would have continued for the Blue Jays. However, he stepped—or perhaps fell—off the bag, and Mariners catcher Mike Zunino did a great job of keeping the tag on the runner.
According to Mariners PR, this was the club's first triple play in nearly five years:
As ESPN Stats & Info notes, it's not every day you see a 3-6-2 triple play:
The Mariners ended up winning 6-5 in the 10th inning, and there's no doubt this rally-killer played a part.
