Rob Gronkowski and David Ortiz Have Made Another Weird Dunkin' Donuts Commercial
In its never-ending quest to monopolize the chowdery hearts and minds of Bawston sports fans everywhere, Dunkin' Donuts has released another commercial featuring David Ortiz and Rob Gronkowski.
So far we've seen Gronk and Papi spin on the ones and twos and serenade us with coffee straws. Now, we join them for a more somber vignette—a Spanish love ballad dedicated to creamy sold by the half-gallon.
Ortiz handles the vocals, while Gronkowski explains that, yes, this is a love song about coffee in Spanish.
A few things:
1. Ortiz is saying "the Dunkin' iced," not "that donkey nice."
2. "That donkey nice" would be a great refrain.
3. Not putting Gronk in a sombrero or having him say "fiesta" was a missed opportunity.
4. The Dunkin' mascot is still vaguely menacing.
I kept waiting for this one to go somewhere, to throw us a curveball, but it never happened. It's a little disappointing, honestly.
Anyway, we'll always have the cup solo, and that's all that really matters.
Ah...good times.
Dan is on Twitter. He would never presume to cup solo in your ear.
