Hunter's Attorney 'Confident' Ahead of Case
Tuesday, Aug. 4
Toby Vick, Hunter's attorney, released a statement Monday as he prepares to defend Hunter, courtesy of John Glennon of the Tennessean:
"I can tell you I'm confident that Justin didn't do what he's been charged with and that I have significant concerns about the credibility of the accuser. I think our evidence will show, and I'm not going into specific details, that maybe even the group that includes the guy bringing the charges were the aggressors.
There were a number of people involved and Justin is the only person that they identified. Here you have an NFL player—with what they believe to have deep pockets—identified when lots of things were going on in there. I think it's going to emerge that (Hunter and his friends) weren't even the aggressors. ...
This is completely inconsistent with Justin's history and demeanor. Justin has a pristine record, maybe a traffic citation, but nothing nobody else has. He has a clean record.

Following his release, Hunter's attorneys released a statement, via McCormick:
"Justin has been released on $25k bond with normal and reasonable conditions. We look forward to vigorously defending the allegations.

Hunter Arrested on Assault Charge After Fight
Monday, July 20
Authorities in Virginia Beach, Virginia, arrested Hunter for his alleged involvement in a July 3 fight at a local bar. Police didn't elaborate on Hunter's potential role in the fracas or the extent of the escalation, but the WTKR report stated that "a large fight at the Sandbar Surf Bar on Atlantic Avenue" occurred earlier in the month.
WKRN's Audra Martin obtained the jail report and noted the charges were "malicious intent, stabbing, cutting, wounding."
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network noted that the "weapon" Hunter was accused of using in the felony assault charge was his fists.
"We are aware of the situation and are continuing to gather more facts," the Titans said in a statement to ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky.
NewsChannel 5 in Nashville, Tennessee, shared his mugshot on Twitter:
In his two years with the Titans, the 24-year-old wideout has 46 receptions for 852 yards and seven touchdowns. His head coach, Ken Whisenhunt, issued an ultimatum back in May regarding Hunter, whom he feels has underwhelmed so far in his NFL career.
"At some point, you either get it or you won't be in this league anymore," Whisenhunt said, via David Climer of the Tennessean. "That's the natural order of the NFL."
In that regard, Hunter's arrest couldn't have come at a more inopportune time. Bleacher Report's Cian Fahey added that 2015 was shaping up to be Hunter's best shot at putting it together on the field:
"It's really terrible timing for Hunter. TEN finally have some hope for competence at QB, something he hasn't played with in NFL.
