Jermaine Gresham Reportedly Agrees to 1-Year Contract with Cardinals
After drawing interest from the Packers, Raiders and Bears, tight end Jermaine Gresham reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced. ESPN's Adam Schefter initially reported the move.
The news comes on the heels of a July 19 report from Schefter, who noted Gresham remained a popular free-agent target and was expected to sign with a squad before training camp:

"He's a player we were obviously well aware of coming out of Oklahoma five years ago," Saints head coach Sean Payton said following Gresham's visit in June, per the Advocate's Joel A. Erickson. "He's recovering from an offseason surgery, and I thought the visit went pretty good."
While Gresham never lived up to the potential that made him the No. 21 pick in 2010, he posted solid numbers in 2014, catching 62 passes for 460 yards and five touchdowns. His 2,722 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns in five seasons are decent, if wholly unspectacular, numbers.
When asked by a reader about the possibility of Gresham re-signing with the Bengals, ESPN.com's Coley Harvey stated:
"It doesn't matter at what price the Bengals would be able to get him, there's no chance they re-sign Jermaine Gresham. OK, maybe zero is too definitive. Of course, if Cincinnati has injuries at the tight end position and are desperate to add a body to the position group, then perhaps they re-sign him. But at this point, barring a completely unforeseen emergency scenario, there's very little reason to believe Gresham will be back. His attitude certainly soured some in the locker room, and the drafting of two tight ends—particularly two with 180-degree different personalities—was a clear sign the Bengals wanted to completely move on from Gresham.
"
Gresham is just 27 and is certainly a capable option for a team looking to add depth at tight end. In Cincinnati, he became surplus to requirements with Tyler Eifert on the roster and Tyler Kroft drafted in the third round, but he's still a nice target to have in the red zone.
Now, he'll be joining a seasoned offense featuring Larry Fitzgerald, Carson Palmer and rising star Michael Floyd. He becomes that latest addition to an Arizona squad looking to make noise in a competitive NFC West division, as the team looks to build on the success they have had in recent years.
