Aaron Rodgers Gets Called Out During NCAA Tournament by Writer, Rodgers Responds

Kyle NewportMar 29, 2015

Being Aaron Rodgers has its perks. However, not everyone believes the Green Bay Packers quarterback should be entitled to those benefits.

Rodgers and his girlfriend, Olivia Munn, have received quite a bit of attention during the 2015 NCAA tournament for their attendance at Wisconsin Badgers games. When the Badgers knocked off the Arizona Wildcats 85-78 on Saturday night to advance to the Final Four, Rodgers—whom Green Bay drafted in 2005—was able to take part in the celebration on the court.

While he watched the Badgers cut down the nets, Rodgers reportedly refused to do any interviews. That didn't sit well with CBSSports.com writer Dennis Dodd:

Some may wonder why Rodgers, a Cal alum, was allowed on the court. Others might ask why anyone would care about interviewing the quarterback during a time like this. After all, this moment was all about the Badgers, not Rodgers. Some may applaud the two-time NFL MVP for not "stealing the spotlight" by doing interviews.

Rodgers took notice of Dodd's criticism and responded:

Rodgers has had ties to the state of Wisconsin for nearly a decade now. As a result, he wants to show support for a local team as it makes a run at a championship.
