Roy Lang IIIĀ of The Shreveport TimesĀ added,Ā "In town with his father, the Cleveland Browns quarterback and former Aggies star began his day by fine-tuning his game at 265, the world-class golf facility built by Shreveport's 13-time winner on the PGA Tour."
Pettine Comments on Manziel's Recovery
Monday, March 9
"We're giving him his privacy and let him do what he has to do," Pettine said, per ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler. "It was something he was very resolute needed to get done."
Pettine added that he's been in contact with Manziel, per Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland:
According to Fowler, "the Browns are encouraged by Manziel's offseason" and believe the 22-year-old first-round pick out of Texas A&M in 2014 will benefit from working with the coaching staff when he's cleared to return.
Manziel entered a rehabilitation program at the beginning of February, per Cabot. His publicist released a statement that read in part: "Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate, and he thought the offseason was the right time to take this step."

Whether Manziel is ready in time for training camp, the Browns will have at least two quarterbacks on the roster with veteran Josh McCown, whom Cleveland signed this month to a three-year, $14 million deal, and 23-year-old Connor Shaw under contract.
If push comes to shove, the Browns can start McCown once the regular season begins and give Manziel the time he needs fully acclimate with the team.
