Just minutes ago, future Hall of Fame Quarterback Brett Favre signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings and will officially be on the roster for the 2009 - 2010 season. This stunning news comes just three weeks after Favre announced he will not come back to the NFL for another season.

The Brett Favre saga is both over and just beginning. As helicopters buzzed around the Minnesota Vikings training facility, Winter Park in Eden Prairie Minnesota, Brett Favre was met by Head Coach Brad Childress and escorted from his black SUV to the Vikings office to make it official.

The media has converged on this story and are travelling in droves to Minnesota to get a glimpse and the latest scoop on the newest member to the Minnesota Vikings Team. As the crowds and traffic grow outside the Minnesota Vikings headquarter facility, there will be much news to report about Brett Favre's joining his new team.

In an interview at the Minnesota Vikings website, Head Coach Brad Childress had this to say: “We believe adding a player such as Brett Favre to our mix will be a strong positive for this football team,” said Childress. “As we have conveyed before, his unique knowledge of our system, the NFC North and his innate skills make this a rare opportunity. We felt there was a brief window to reconsider the possibility and we owed it to the organization to evaluate our options. After thorough discussion, the same variables that made this a unique and positive situation previously, still exist. Now, our attention turns to getting to work as a team, our next practice and preparing for the season.”

Stay tuned NFL football fans, this season will be quite a ride.
