Thursday, March 12

Newsday's Kimberly A. Martin reported that Cromartie has agreed to once agin play for the Jets. His contract will be for four years and $32M, per Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News

Earlier on Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN reported that Darrelle Revis was trying to recruit Cromartie to rejoin him in New York:

"

Shortly after signing his five-year, $70 million contract, Darrelle Revis told reporters Wednesday night he was planning to call his old sidekick, Antonio Cromartie. It was to be a recruiting call.

"I'm going to get in contact with him very soon and try to convince him to come back and join our Batman and Robin tandem that we had a couple of years ago," Revis said.

"

On March 10, Seth Walder of the New York Daily News reported that the Jets have had "serious discussions" with Cromartie about returning to New York.

On March 10, Cromartie told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith that he had narrowed his choices down to the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Jets and the Arizona Cardinals, per Cosentino.

Cards GM Keim Discusses Cromartie Negotiations

Friday, February 13

Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com passed along general manager Steve Keim's comments on negotiations with Cromartie: "Keim said he would 'love' to bring back cornerback Antonio Cromartie, who is a free agent-to-be and raved about Cromartie's efforts in 2014. Left unsaid by Keim was that Cromartie's market value is likely to push the veteran out of the Cardinals' price range.

On Feb. 9, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com posted comments from Patrick Peterson on trying to keep Cromartie in Arizona:

"

I'm definitely trying to keep him here. It's going to be tough, especially with [former Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator] Todd [Bowles] being in New York and he loves [New York].

That's all he talks about is freaking New York. I'm definitely trying to get him to stay and we'll see what happens.

Jets Targeting Cromartie Return

Monday, February 2

Take a one-year deal, reprove your worth around the league and land a long-term deal. That was the blueprint for Cromartie in Arizona. He did just that, and now it appears the free-agent cornerback is about to reap the rewards.

According to Kristian Dyer of Metro, the New York Jets could be targeting Cromartie in free agency:

"

Sources familiar with Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan's thinking, as well as that of head coach Todd Bowles', tell Metro that the team is "open and willing" to pursue cornerbacks Antonio Cromartie and Darrelle Revis this offseason should both hit the open market. Revis, who captured a Super Bowl title with the Patriots Sunday, and Cromartie are former Jets who partnered together for several seasons under former head coach Rex Ryan to form on of the best secondary units in the league.
