Maclin Signs With Chiefs
Wednesday, March 11
The Chiefs announced on Wednesday that Maclin had signed a contract.
Chris Mortensen of ESPN reported on Maclin's reported deal with Kansas City, saying that it would be a five-year, $55 million contract with $22.5 million in guaranteed money.
On March 9, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the "Chiefs' deal with Jeremy Maclin will be worth $11 million per season, per source."
Maclin and the Chiefs had been linked together for quite some time now.
On March 8, Mortensen reported Maclin plans to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs when free agency begins on March 10.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported talks between the Eagles and Maclin "broke down," which pushed Maclin to the Chiefs. ESPN's Andrew Brandt added, "Eagles were hovering just below $10M per year on Maclin, with KC moving to $11M range, enough to make move." However, Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports later added Maclin's deal to the Chiefs was not completed.
On Feb. 19, Rapoport first reported on Total Access that Maclin could be a fit with the Kansas City Chiefs under his former head coach, Andy Reid, via NFL.com's Chris Wesseling.
