Cam Newton's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 9

Cam Newton's numbers have steadily dropped in each of the last four weeks, and on Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints he had arguably his worst performance of the 2014 season.

Newton's rushing numbers helped to salvage what would've otherwise been an awful fantasy night. According to ESPN Stats & Info, that touchdown was his first on a scramble in a little over a year:

The problem for the fourth-year quarterback is that his supporting cast is severely lacking in quality. Kelvin Benjamin and Greg Olsen are the only viable threats through the air, and the offensive line has some glaring holes. Newton's potential on the ground continues to make him a tantalizing QB1, but he's better off on your bench right now. His recent numbers are far from flattering, and there's little indication that things will improve anytime soon.
