Did Refs Rob Steve Smith of TD with Offensive Pass Interference Call?
The back-and-forth battle between the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals ended on a bit of a controversial note.
With 47 seconds left to go in the game, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco rolled to the right and launched an 80-yard touchdown pass to veteran wide receiver Steve Smith Sr.
Battling through one-on-one coverage down the field, Smith turned to the football, used his hands to free himself from Bengals safety George Iloka and secured the catch. After he ran into the end zone, the play was nullified because of an offensive pass interference call.

Looking at the incident, courtesy of NFL.com, we are able to see exactly what went down late in the fourth quarter.
It's tough to muster up a definitive answer from watching the video. The constant barrage of contact between wide receivers and defensive backs goes on frequently. But with the game on the line, the refs decided to call it a penalty and declare Smith Sr. the responsible party.
Mike Pereira—the former vice president of officiating in the NFL and current FOX Sports analyst—spoke about how he believes the officials actually made the correct call:
There's no question that Ravens and Bengals fans will be talking about this particular call during the week.
What do you think? Did the referees make the right call? Or did they rob Smith Sr. of a game-winning touchdown reception?
