The New York Giants lost linebacker Jon Beason to injury in the team's Week 7 NFC East showdown against the Dallas Cowboys.
A nagging toe injury cropped up once again for Beason, as the team noted his status on Twitter:
Beason, 29, had 11 tackles this season entering Sunday as he continues to fend off the toe issue. In order to counter his loss in the heart of the defense, Art Stapleton of The Record notes that the team will look to rookie Devon Kennard for production:
New York has a Week 8 bye before a Monday Night Football encounter with the Indianapolis Colts. Kennard, along with Jameel McClain and Mark Herzlich, will hold down the position until Beason can return.
