And Freeman surmised on his own an issue among some teammates regarding Wilson that quote, he isn’t black enough. A certain expected behavior based on color, apparently. One of the sources told me, quote, I don’t know how he got all that stuff, but it’s pretty much true. We do have a divide. We’re working on it. Thursday that notion was not presented to Wilson, but over and again, questions came about Harvin’s departure.”

The Jets made Harvin official, per Jets.com reporter Eric Allen:

The Jets announced Saturday morning that they have acquired WR-KR Percy Harvin from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for an undisclosed draft selection. In order to make room for Harvin, the Jets released veteran WR David Nelson.

The New York Jets have addressed one of their biggest offensive needs after reportedly acquiring Percy Harvin from the Seattle Seahawks for a conditional draft pick.

In five games this season, Harvin has 133 yards through the air and 92 yards on the ground with one rushing touchdown. The Jets will hope that he can inject some life into a passing attack that is dead last in the league in yards per game (185.4).

Having an established wide receiver around should also speed along Geno Smith's development. The Jets QB is no stranger to a dynamic playmaker like Harvin after having played with Tavon Austin at West Virgina.

The Seahawks have a few potential options to replace Harvin, one of which is Doug Baldwin. The 26-year-old played very well in the slot last year, per Pro Football Focus:

Seattle won a Super Bowl despite Harvin missing all but one regular-season game. The team will likely find a way to compensate for his departure without sacrificing too much production.
