Detroit Lions tight end Joseph Fauria missed Week 4 after suffering a mysterious ankle injury last week, and the story surrounding the nature of the injury has come to surface.
According to the team's Twitter feed, Fauria was hurt dealing with a not-so-house-trained puppy:
The assailant has been confirmed as Lil' Rufio:
Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press offered a further update concerning Fauria's status:
Fortunately for the Lions, Matthew Stafford still has an array of weapons in the passing game, including first-round draft pick Eric Ebron, who looked good against the Jets in an expanded role with Fauria on the bench in Week 4.
Ebron and Brandon Pettigrew should see increased snaps in Fauria's absence should he continue to miss time.
