Lions' Calvin Johnson Looking to Become 7th-Fastest Player to 600 Receptions
Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson needs nine catches in Sunday's game against the New York Jets to become the seventh-fastest player in NFL history to reach 600 career receptions, per Stats LLC on Twitter.
Heading into the contest with 591 catches through 109 games, Johnson is listed as questionable due to an ankle injury, but he will likely be able to play.
The 6'5" wideout has a long history of playing through nagging issues, as he's a frequent visitor to the injury report, yet he has only missed six games through the first seven-plus seasons of his career.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Johnson is off to his typical fast start this year, with his 19 receptions for 329 yards and two touchdowns through three games putting him on pace for a 101-1, 755-11 receiving line.
If he maintains the pace, he'll become the first player in NFL history to average 100 or more receiving yards per game in four consecutive seasons, per Pro-Football-Reference.com's play index. The only other player to accomplish the feat in three straight years was Lance Alworth, who did so for the San Diego Chargers in the AFL from 1964 to 1966.
In fact, Alworth and Johnson are the only players to record 100 receiving yards per game in more than two seasons, accounting for a combined six of the 39 such campaigns since 1920.
As for the 600-reception mark, Anquan Boldin—now of the San Francisco 49ers—was the fastest to that milestone, reaching it in just 98 games, per 49ers senior reporter Taylor Price.
