Jerry Jones May Have Been in Denial About Crowd Support at 2014 Season Opener
Anyone who watched the Dallas Cowboys host the San Francisco 49ers at AT&T Stadium on Sunday may have noticed a large contingent of Niners fans in the stands. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, on the other hand, seemed to have missed the overwhelming swath of opposing fans in his stadium.
ESPN Dallas' Tim MacMahon estimated about half of the 91,174 fans in attendance for Dallas' season opener on Sunday were cheering for the road team. However, Jones wasn't buying it:
"'First of all, I don't acknowledge that there were half of them there.' Jones said, feathers uncharacteristically ruffled. 'Did you count them?'
Oh, it was pretty close to it.
'BS,' Jones snapped. 'I know you didn’t count them. Anyway, nothing went through my mind. I was looking at the game.'

Obviously, no one knows exactly how many 49ers fans there were in the stands. Just by looking at the crowd, however, you can judge for yourself which team had more fans at the game.

That's a lot of red.
Jones' quotes about the crowd came after the Cowboys' 28-17 loss, which wasn't as close as the score may indicate. He was likely frustrated about the game, and having so many opposing fans in his stadium probably didn't make him any happier.
