Vernon Davis, Clay Matthews and Co. Read NFL Mean Tweets on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'
There’s something about the Internet that brings out the best in people.
Just kidding. It’s a den of vice and anonymity where people climb into their avatars like MechWarrior bots and wreak petty, emotional destruction on one another. Someone online is probably hacking your most private, intimate correspondence and sharing it with the world right now.
These cyber streets can be rough, but it's an easier block to walk if you choose to laugh off the trolls. This is the recurring objective of Jimmy Kimmel's "Mean Tweets" segment, and a troupe of NFL personalities stepped up Thursday night to read their ugliest social media run-ins.
A wave of current and former players (and media members) went on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and read some of the nastiest tweets they've received.
To summarize these communications, Vernon Davis trolls hope he snaps a hamstring.
Clay Matthews agrees that recovering from an all-but-ripped-off thumb is stupid.

- While most of the tweets were cruel or unusual, one Twitterer smacked the nail on the head by calling out the middle school dance going on between Michael Strahan’s front teeth.

Got 'im.
Also, DeSean Jackson does look like he shops exclusively at Express, Inc. That’s just funny.
